G+WT partner Naftal Mandi, MPH, MBA, is our seasoned financial and project management partner, based in Dodoma. Naftal manages our all-Tanzanian project team: The logistics, equipment, project direction, client and end-user relations, and all the day to day. He has successfully managed projects from individual business and village boreholes to municipal wellfields. Like many Tanzanians, he is multilingual and entrepreneurial.
He brings his public health and business education to the team, as well as his experience in teaching and leadership with St. Johns University in Dodoma. During his USA undergraduate education time (BS, Bowling Green State University in Ohio), he also gained laboratory, quality control, and fund management experience.

Stuart Smith, MS, CGWP, RG (Linked-In) is the USA-based G+WT investing and technical partner. Stuart has been in consulting practice since 1986, and is also a partner in the long-established USA-based firm, Ground Water Science (Twitter @gwshydros) Prior to that, he worked as an adjunct associate professor with Wright State University (Ohio), at Battelle Memorial Institute, and as education and research associate for the National Ground Water Association (NGWA). He is an NGWA Certified Ground Water Professional and holds BA and MS degrees (Wittenberg University and The Ohio State University).
Stuart is a pioneer in improving methods of water well rehabilitation, including improved sanitation and removing clogging deposits, incorporating geomicrobiology in understanding impacts on groundwater quality, and lifetime management of water supply assets in the USA and the rest of the developing world.
He performs hydrogeologic analysis and well and ground-water system forensic analysis, planning, training, watershed management, and project management. He is the author or coauthor of numerous publications, including contributions to well maintenance and rehabilitation practice and active in standards development with AWWA and NGWA. Stuart manages international client relations, training and business development, and technical standards for the company. Also a Lutheran (ELCA) layman, Stuart also manages his church's community garden.
